Narrative Description of Project:
The aim of this project is to establish a comprehensive planning system for transport sector in the Kingdom and identifying the role of concerned entities. The proposals are to be packaged in detailed manuals
Description of Actual Services Provided:
Phase I: Documenting the Existing Conditions
This phase includes an analysis and evaluation of the existing transport planning practices, identification of gaps, identifying concerned entities and the role of each.
Phase II: Theoretical Issues and International Practices
Defining the systems and legislations required for comprehensive planning, identification of typical tasks,
a review of international experience with a summary of lessons learned.
Phase III: Identification of Gaps between Current and Targeted Conditions
Description for the gap between current and target with respect to concerned entities and coordination
tasks, and a comparison between capabilities and future needs for transport planning within a framework
of comprehensive planning.
Phase IV: Deliverables, Solutions and Recommendations
Drafting the instruments and mechanisms of comprehensive integrated transportation planning,
identification of expertise of required staff, prepare a manual for comprehensive planning of the transport
sector in the kingdom, prepare and implementation plan.
