Project Details
TEAM International, in conjunction with the Academy for Educational Development (AED)/USA, provided technical assistance to appropriate Egyptian organizations mainly; the State Information Services (SIS) in order to improve the effectiveness of population Information, Education and Communication IE & C, in Egypt.
The technical assistance included:
- Assisting the State Information Services (SIS) to improve its management capacity to plan, coordinate with other organizations and implement a comprehensive IE & C Family Planning Strategy.
- Assisting information, education, and communication user organizations to develop the capacity to assess and express their IE & C needs, and to effectively procure these needs through outside sources such as (SIS) and private advertising agencies.
- Assisting (SIS) to develop the capacity to respond competitively to the IE & C material needs of other user organizations.
- Assisting (SIS) to improve its financial management capability.
- Advise USAID/Cairo regarding its response to request for IEC grant funding, training, and procurement approvals for (SIS) and other Egyptian organizations.
