Project Details
Narrative Description of Project:
The project consists of upgrading the existing mountainous road that joins Bekaa Plain near Zahlé to the Metn area in the western mountainous chain to the north-east of Beirut.
The existing road about 10 km long is in general steep, narrow, mostly unpaved with some sharp curves, and usually covered with winter snow.
The project aims at widening the right-of-way of the road up to 12 m, redesigning its alignment and profile for a design speed of 40-50 kph. It includes also pavement and drainage system design.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff:
Expropriation decrees were prepared and detailed geotechnical and soils testing were carried out. Detailed drawings and cross-sections are to be carried out to 1/1000 and 1/100 scales respectively, in addition to BOQ and cost estimates of the project.
