Part of the World Bank VTE Project for the Ministry of Education & Higher Education, Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education (DGVTE), to develop the technical education sector, was directed towards upgrading the equipment of existing specializations in the public schools. DGVTE needed a full-fledged equipment survey in existing public schools to determine urgent equipping needs of those schools.
A survey was conducted to cover equipment related to the VTE specialization in Public Vocational Schools. The Specializations cover 18 different areas of specialization in 39 vocational schools covering all Lebanon.
The project activities included:
- Interpretation of Curricula of all specializations.
- Listing of Labs and workshops in 39 schools.
- Provisional listing of equipment in Labs and workshops.
- Listing of specifications of all equipments per specialty and course.
- Listing of specifications per location.
- Production of checklists for equipment.
- Conduct site visits by specialization and by school.
- Production of lists of needed equipment.
- Preparation of Budgetary analysis.
- Preparation of Procurement lists.
- Preparation of Procurement bidding documents.
