Narrative Description of Project:
The main objective of the Study is to formulate a multidisciplinary framework for the revitalization of the public transport and goods transport in Lebanon, in addition to developing a practical implementation plan and designing a well-integrated transit system.
The scope of works include extensive surveys, institutional analysis, governance reviews, transport modeling, transport planning, and system design, design of regulatory instruments.
Description of Actual Services Provided:
Project management, transport economic assessment, institutional review and reform, proposals for division of responsibilities among various stakeholders, defining a new role for the Rail and Public Transport Authority, proposals for removal of legislative, legal, and administrative barriers to revitalization of public transport, recommendations regarding commercial vehicles licensing and counter measures to remove cars with forfeit license plates from circulation, specialized surveys, system design, design of regulatory instruments, implementation strategies.
