Project Details
Narrative Description of Project:
MEDA-RPR project aims at improving rural accessibility in areas severely affected by isolation and the provincial integration of North provinces. The project consists of 3 lots.
The combined total construction cost is approximately 32 million USD.
1st Lot : The layout of the road RR610 linking Boufarkouch to Imzouren from P.K 21 + 041 to P.K. 42 + 016 in Nador Province runs on a hillside in rough topography. The vertical profile is rolling and the horizontal alignment is mostly made of a series of acute curved turns.
The works consist of earthworks, drainage, pavement, signing and marking.
Length: 21,00 km Cost of works: 79 M. Dh
2nd Lot: The road extends between elevations 880 m and 1384 m in a very hazardous mountainous area of the Rif.
The works consist of construction of Road RN 8 linking Oued Rhamane to Tabarrante from P.K 0 + 000 to P.K 19 + 773 in El Hoceima Province.
Length: 19,773 km Cost of works: 114 M. Dh.
3rd Lot: This road is a direct connection between Taounate and Al Hoceima Provinces and enhances the development of three rural villages: Zrizer, Khlalfa and Tabarrante. The road extends between elevations 330 m and 880 m in the mountainous area of the Pré-Rif. The topography of the region consists of very steep hillsides and deep valleys.
The works consist of:
– Construction of Road RN 8 extending on 12.9 km between Khlalfa and Tabarrante
– Widening and strengthening of Road RN 8 extending on 12.4 km between Askar bridge and linking khlalfa.
– Construction of two bridges on Oued Islane for a length of 60 linear meters and on Oued Sra for a length of 100 linear meters.
Length: 25,26 km Cost of works: 95 M. Dh.
Description of Actual Services Provided:
The scope of work covered comprehensive contract administration, technical assistance and construction supervision services, including:
– Establishing systems and monitoring quality control, progress control and quantities installed.
– Ensuring that the contractor is working in conformity with contract requirements in terms of legal aspects, materials, specifications, construction methods and workmanship
– Checking of construction drawings.
– Re-design of many of the earth retaining structures to conform the actual field conditions.
– Day-to-day construction supervision of all works.
– Construction schedule follow-up and updating and time control.
– Evaluation of cost and time implications of variations.
– Keeping records of tests, inspection approvals….
– Quantities calculations, review payment applications by the contractor and certify for payment.
– Daily, monthly and final reports preparation to DRCR.
– On-the-job training
– Snag listing and assistance during project reception.
– Services during defects liability period.
