Narrative Description of Project:
The center of Hail City, a provincial capital in northern Saudi Arabia, is 682 m x 585 m, bordered by street arterials. It includes several souqs, administrative buildings, courthouses, schools, and residences. This super-block includes also undeveloped land that is currently being used as surface parking.
A detailed land use survey was conducted, followed by extensive traffic and parking surveys. Based on the current and projected land uses, the circulation and parking requirements were determined.
Recommendations and designs included additional street links, intersection improvement, signalization of some junctions, on-street parking regulation, signing and marking.
