Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided:
Paper Industry (Paper and Cardboard)
• Conduct a field survey of the paper industry (paper and cardboard)
• Presentation of geographical distribution of sector facilities on a map.
• Selection of two licensed facilities representative of the paper industry (paper and cardboard).
• Environmental auditing of these two facilities (following national procedures for environmental auditing).
• Environmental Impact Assessment of the subject sector.
• Presentation of a decree plan defining specifications and standards for the subject sector.
• Propose pollution preventive measures, clean production methodologies, and treatment methods to ensure that the two selected facilities conform to specifications and standards within a specific time frame.
• Propose a number of economic incentives to facilitate the application of the developed plans.
• Preparation of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Environment and representatives of the subject sector to ensure environmental compliance within the proposed time frame.
• Development of an environmental monitoring plan for the Ministry of Environment to support the implementation of the memorandum tasks.

Food Industry (Olive Pressing)
• Preparation of a report of the necessary data and information on the olive oil production sector in Lebanon (number of olive trees, quantities used in olive oil production, number of olive mills, geographical distribution, geographical characteristics).
• Mapping the available information and data to available technologies for the purpose of selecting best techniques that can be used at the national level.
• Review of technologies that could be economically feasible to adopt in Lebanon and defining the two most suitable ones.
• Ensuring the performance of the selected technologies and conducting a preliminary economic feasibility study to choose one of the two technologies and defining its preliminary cost.
